Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that the team owed it to their fans to reach the Conference League final, following victory over Fiorentina in the semi-final. Los Verdiblancos grabbed the winner in extra time through Ez Abde to level the score at 2-2 on the night, and take the tie 4-3 overall.

Real Betis coach Manuel Luis Pellegrini has told Cadena Cope that the recent response from Betis fans has impressed the team and they have given them a warm welcome after reaching the Conference League final against Chelsea on Wednesday 28 May.

The Chilean coach also spoke highly of Antony, who was a hero for Real Betis after scoring a free-kick and assisting Abde Ezzalzuli’s equaliser in extra time as they drew 2-2 at Fiorentina in the first leg of their semi-final. 

‘Antony is a unique player who has contributed a lot and we will see what the future holds. I have no doubt that he will do everything he can to stay. For now, we have to enjoy today. Tomorrow is training, try to get to the Champions League, beat Osasuna at home and then we will have time to talk about the final after La Liga is over. ‘
